Cleveland Browns Mock Draft Roundup 5.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2022 NFL Draft, we will update our Cleveland Browns Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Cleveland Browns from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Browns:

SI - Hanson (3/11)

13. Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

After transferring from Ohio State, Williams had a breakout campaign (78/1,561/15) for Alabama in 2021. While Williams tore his ACL in January, he says he's "ahead of schedule" in his rehab timeline. Although he has game-breaking speed, he's more than just a deep threat.

CBS Sports - Fornelli (3/11)

13. Jermaine Johnson, EDGE, Florida State

Johnson's career began at Georgia, but he transferred to Florida State. If you watched the combine and saw how Georgia's defenders performed, it's easy to understand why. That's not a knock on Johnson, though, as he's just as talented as they are. Transferring was simply a way to ensure more playing time, and it paid off. He was a dominant force in the ACC and has the potential to be the best defensive player in this draft class.

San Diego Union Tribune - Brown (3/10)

13. Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

Linebacker will be a priority once again if the Browns lose Anthony Walker and Malcolm Smith in free agency, but they're also in desperate need of some firepower at wide receiver after releasing Odell Beckham Jr. Wilson's ability to threaten a defense at every level would pair nicely with Jarvis Landry, who is also a free agent in 2023.

The Draft Network - Crabbs (3/9)

13. Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

The Browns, simply put, need to improve their offensive weaponry and get more dynamic playmakers with the ball in their hands. They accomplish that with Garrett Wilson here in the early teens, as he's one of the most impressive athletes in this year's class with the ball in hands.

ESPN - McShay (3/9)

13. Devonte Wyatt, IDL, Georgia

Another in a long line of Georgia defenders who impressed in Indy, Wyatt locates the football super fast and then has 4.77 speed to close on it. That 40-yard dash time led all defensive tackles at the combine, and he was in the top five at the position in both the vertical (29 inches) and broad jump (9-foot-3). Malik Jackson is a free agent, leaving a hole in the middle of Cleveland's defensive front, and Wyatt -- one of the biggest risers in the class -- could slide in next to Myles Garrett to help get after the quarterback and stuff the run at the line of scrimmage.

And yes, receiver is a position to watch for Cleveland, but it might be slightly early for Ohio State's Chris Olave or Arkansas' Treylon Burks.

NFL.com - Zierlein (3/8)

13. George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

DT Jordan Davis could be the surprise pick here, but an analytics-driven team like the Browns would likely covet three downs of production at a premium position like defensive end with a selection this early.

Touchdown Wire - Schofield (3/8)

13. Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

Cleveland Browns fans have seen Odell Beckham Jr. leave town and win a Super Bowl, and are now preparing for life without Jarvis Landry. And while the organization just used the franchise tag on David Njoku, their talented tight end, they need to add a weapon on the outside.

Jameson Williams suffered a knee injury in the national championship game but his rehabilitation is progressing well, and brings game-changing speed and explosiveness to a Browns offense that is in dire need of creating explosive plays in the passing game.
