Dallas Cowboys 2021 NFL Mock Draft Roundup 9.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, we will update our Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Dallas Cowboys from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

For a more inclusive lists of mock drafts for the Dallas Cowboys, check out our 2021 Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft Database.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Cowboys:

EDSFootball - Hanson (4/15)

10. Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama

Re-signing Jourdan Lewis to a three-year deal but losing Chidobe Awuzie in free agency likely means that this pick is an outside corner, especially if the Cowboys have their choice of the position group. A three-year starter and the 2020 SEC Defensive Player of the Year, Surtain II has an NFL pedigree (father was a three-time Pro Bowl CB and his high school coach) with the size (6-2, 208), length and ball skills that new coordinator Dan Quinn will covet.

Fox Sports - Rang (4/15)

10. Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama

The Cowboys allowed 34 passing touchdowns in 2020 with just 10 interceptions, one of the worst ratios in the NFL in 2020. With Dak Prescott re-signed and the Cowboys seemingly in a position to compete again for the division title, it is hard to imagine Jerry Jones passing on an opportunity to solidify the secondary with Surtain, an NFL legacy with his own Pro Bowl potential.

CBS Sports - Jones (4/14)

10. Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama

This fit seems so obvious I almost don't want to make it. Surtain is the best corner in an athletically gifted class, and he has the pedigree to excel with the star on his helmet in Dan Quinn's defense.

Dak Prescott: Playing on the franchise tag in 2020, Prescott was dominant before his season was cut short by a compound ankle fracture. In Weeks 2 to 4, Prescott threw for a minimum (yes, minimum) of 450 yards in all three games with a total of 11 touchdowns (eight passing and three rushing). During that stretch, he performed as the weekly QB1, QB4 and QB1, respectively. With a talented trio of wide receivers, Prescott has tremendous upside if he can stay healthy.

Dak Prescott 2021 Fantasy Football Profile

Entering the league as a fourth-round pick, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had immediate success as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2016.

While Prescott missed the final 11 1/2 games of the 2020 season, he has never finished any worse than fantasy's QB11 in any of his four full seasons.

In his last full season, he scored the second-most fantasy points behind Baltimore's Lamar Jackson, the 2019 NFL MVP. In addition, Prescott and the Cowboys' offense finished as the league's top-ranked offense in 2019.

Before suffering his season-ending ankle injury in Week 5 last year, Prescott was off to a terrific start -- from a statistical standpoint. Prescott was fantasy's QB4 through the first five weeks of the season.

That said, the trio of Patrick Mahomes (138.86, QB2), Josh Allen (138.66, QB3) and Prescott (138.64, QB4) were separated by a mere 0.22 fantasy points -- equivalent to 5.5 passing yards -- over that stretch to begin the season.

2020 NFL Power Rankings: Dallas Cowboys

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Dallas Cowboys rank in terms of average, best and worst in our consensus Week 17 NFL Power Rankings:

Below you will find a Week 17 Draft roundup for the Cowboys in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 24

Dak Prescott, QB: After using the franchise tag on Prescott last offseason, the Cowboys' goal should be to lock him up long term. Prescott will be coming off of a season-ending injury, but quarterbacks his age (he turns 28 in July) and his caliber rarely reach the open market. In other words, there's no reason for Prescott to take any kind of a discount to return to Dallas.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 22

They have a chance to be the division winner, but they need help from the Eagles. The offense has really played well lately with Andy Dalton.
