2022 NFL Power Rankings: Dallas Cowboys

Throughout the 2022 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 18 roundup for the Dallas Cowboys in our consensus 2022 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 4

Regular season in five words or fewer: Meeting regular-season expectations

It didn't start well in Week 1, with a defeat to Tampa Bay and losing Dak Prescott to a thumb injury. But they went 4-1 with QB Cooper Rush as the starter and have lost just twice -- in overtime both times -- since Prescott returned from having thumb surgery. The Cowboys have three wins against teams with at least 11 wins and although they might not repeat as NFC East champs, they have 12 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1994-95. Of course, this season was always about what the Cowboys do in the playoffs.

It was a take-care-of-business game for the Cowboys, who easily handled a short-handed Titans team resting multiple players in a Thursday Night Football snoozer. The only real competitive intrigue in the contest came via self-inflicted errors by Dak Prescott, who threw two interceptions and lost a fumble in a sloppy first half. Prescott and the rest of the offense cleaned it up from that point, coasting to the win in the team's third game in 12 days. A victory over the Commanders in Week 18 coupled with an Eagles loss to the Giants would allow the Cowboys to steal the NFC East -- along with, if you throw in a 49ers loss to the Cardinals, the conference's No. 1 seed. It's an unlikely scenario, but it still behooves Dallas to end the regular season playing good football.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 6

It wasn't pretty against the Titans, but they still can win the NFC East. The offense has been rolling up the points lately, which makes them a dangerous team every week.

USA Today -- Rank: 6

For all the smoke around Odell Beckham Jr. in recent weeks, do they even need him? Newly signed WR T.Y. Hilton is performing like the perfect addition for this offense.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 5

The Cowboys are still in the mix for the NFC East, somehow. Dallas doesn't historically rest its starters in Week 18 even with nothing to play for, so it's not like they're missing out on a pseudo bye week. Here's the funny thing though: They might be better off as the No. 5 seed playing at Tampa Bay than getting to the No. 2 seed and having to host the Packers.
